Plans have been submitted for a new hotel in the centre of Sheffield.

The seven-storey scheme would feature a new 126-bedroom Ibis Budget hotel, with a reception and a restaurant at ground floor level.

The site is part of the larger Velocity Tower development which also includes a residential apartment building. The original tower development is currently being used as a car park.

A planning decision is expected later this year.

Velocity Tower is located alongside the Inner Ring Road in the centre of Sheffield, a short walk from the city centre shops, the city’s financial district, restaurants, bars and it’s two Universities.
