New Hotel opens in Glasgow

Cardigan Castle in Cardigan, south west Wales is currently undergoing a multi-million pound restoration. The new development is designed to open up Cardigan Castle for local community use and the Grade II-listed Regency gardens and walled kitchen garden will form a central feature after restoration.

Cardigan Castle will also include four-star bed and breakfast accommodation overlooking the River Teifi plus a fine-dining restaurant which will also overlook the river. New conference rooms, fully equipped with high-tech audio-visual technology, will be opening in the Castle Green House. The facility will be available for corporate use and for training weekends.

Whilst the 900-year-old Cardigan Castle is historically important as the site of the first-ever Eisteddfod, it has for years stood crumbling at the riverside gateway to the town centre. The current renovation is being supported by Heritage Lottery Fund and the Welsh European Funding Office.

Paramount London, the new £2bn theme park planned on a 388 acre site on the Swanscombe Peninsula in Kent has taken a step closer to becoming a reality. The site has been now been acquired for development with construction possibly starting as early as next year. The site was formerly the largest cement plant in the UK until it closed in 1993.

London Paramount resort will feature a water park, a theme park, sporting facilities, an entertainment street, a staff training academy and about 5,000 hotel rooms. Paramount London is scheduled to open in 2020.

Buddha-bar Restaurant London is about to launch Inspiration Lounge at Buddha Bar Knightsbridge - a new conference and meeting room.

The Inspiration Suite is equipped with the latest IT facilities including high-speed internet access and audio-visual equipment – with a pan-Asian cuisine on offer during the breaks or lunch.

Topland, the private investment company, has acquired the eight hotels which comprised the family-run Feathers Group. The Feathers Group has three hotels in Chester, two hotels in Liverpool, a hotel in Manchester, a hotel in Warrington and a hotel in Preston; all of which are members of Best Western.

They will be joining Hallmark Hotels and Menzies Hotels which have been acquired by Topland over the last couple of years. In total Topland now have 38 three and four star hotels throughout the UK in their portfolio.

A new Regus Express business centre has just opened at the Hilton Warwick/Stratford-upon-Avon hotel.

Regus Express offers flexible workspace and conferencing facilities. It features a drop-in business lounge with individual 'Thinkpod' workstations, laptop stands and phone chargers as well as free, secure wi-fi. Alongside is a suite of meeting rooms seating two to four people which will be available to book by the hour. This is the first Regus Express unit to open in a hotel.

Hilton Warwick/Stratford-upon-Avon is located just off the M40 at junction 15.
