Escape Hunt Group is planning to open its first UK escape room venue in central Birmingham.
The site will be in the Martineau Galleries in Corporation Street. The first floor of the building will be converted to create seven ‘escape’ rooms.
Escape Hunt Group has masterminded a menu of ‘escape games’ which involve locking participants in a room for a set time. They must then solve a series of clues, against the clock, in order to get free.
Each room is themed, usually around horror or murder/mystery. The object of the exercise is to put the participants under pressure as they seek a way out.
Escape Hunt Group will be targeting the corporate events and team building markets as well as the general public.
The Escape Hunt Experience launched in Bangkok in 2013. Since then the group has grown a 214 room network across 20 countries. In the UK the group is also planning to open in Cabot Circus in Bristol.
No prospective opening dates have been published yet.
