The Swan at Lavenham Hotel opens its new Weavers' House Spa in March 2015. It has been an eighteen  month journey from the drawing board to completion. When it opens the Weavers' House Spa will features six treatment rooms and two relaxation suites; a manicure and pedicure area; an aromatic steam room, hot stone sauna and an outdoor vitality pool. In all over 30 wellbeing, facial and body treatments for men and women will be available.

The Swan at Lavenham is an AA Four Red Star hotel in the village of Lavenham in Suffolk with 45 contemporary, individually-styled bedrooms. The building dates from the 15th century and hence features include oak-beamed interiors, open fires, nooks and crannies. The Swan at Lavenham has three meeting rooms, all with natural daylight, accommodating from four to 50 delegates with air-conditioning and complimentary wi-fi connection.

The Swan at Lavenham is situated between Sudbury and Bury St. Edmunds in Suffolk, 40 minutes from Cambridge and around two hours from London via the M11.

As construction of the first Motel One hotel to open in Manchester approaches the ‘fit-out’ stage comes news that construction work on a second Motel One in Manchester will begin in March 2015.

Motel One number one will have 330 bedrooms. It is located at the junction of London Road and Whitworth Street opposite Piccadilly station in the city centre.

Motel One number two will have 300 bedrooms and will be located in Cross Street in the heart of central Manchester. The building is currently a vacant office block with an historic stone façade. In addition to the bedrooms, the hotel will also include a ground floor restaurant, a retail unit and parking for 25 cars.

Completion of the £25million Motel One Cross Street project is not expected before 2017.

Gleneagles Hotel will open its new 2500 square metre event space – Gleneagles Arena - in spring 2015. It will be located within Gleneagles’ 850 acre estate.

Gleneagles Arena will transform a current equestrian arena into a modern and versatile event space which will also double as a four-court indoor tennis centre. The Gleneagles Arena project represents a £650,000 investment. It will have capacity for between 500 and 2000 delegates and is designed to host conferences, exhibitions, product launches, concerts and team-building events. A new reception area is part of the plan seating up to 650 guests. There will be complimentary parking for 500 cars.

Gleneagles Hotel has 232 luxury bedrooms, fourteen meeting and banqueting rooms and a wide range of leisure activities. Gleneagles Arena will enable the hotel to attract larger groups in future. Gleneagles is situated in Auchterarder, in the heart of Scotland near Perth and Stirling on the A9.

In the next few months, 36 Gleneagles bedrooms with be refurbished with new carpets, soft furnishings and wall coverings. This refurbishment project will be completed in full by the end of April 2015.

Plans are afoot to convert a historic building in the heart of Birmingham's business district into serviced apartments with a bar and restaurant. The building is the old Legal and General Assurance Society offices in Waterloo Street just off Colmore Row.

Plans propose the building’s  conversion into 32 serviced apartments - 27 one-bedroom apartments and five two-bedroom apartments. The former ground floor banking hall would be converted into a restaurant and bar. City planners are meeting shortly to discuss the plans.

The Grade II-listed property is located at 7-8 Waterloo Street. The building dates back to the early 1930s but has now been empty for four years. Plans have been approved in the past to convert it into a hotel and restaurant. There was a proposal at one time to convert it into a 61- bedroom Hotel Indigo but these have since lapsed. 7-8 Waterloo Street is a five minute walk to both New Street and Snow Hill Stations.


Savoy Place in London is due to reopen autumn 2015 following completion of its two-year-long, £30million refurbishment. The meetings diary for next year will be opening next month.

Savoy Place has been transformed throughout with flexibility and energy efficiency at the core. All meeting facilities have been refurbished. Technically, the latest IT, AV and wireless connectivity have been installed throughout plus facilities for event filming, live streaming and production.

Meeting rooms are on four floors of the building. The main feature room is probably the enlarged Riverside Suite on the third floor overlooking the River Thames with a terrace and accommodating up to 335 guests.

The Watson-Watt Lecture Theatre is a new addition on the second floor with tiered seating for 175 delegates with an exhibition suite and business suite alongside.

The Heritage Library is new event space on the first floor with two new riverside balconies and accommodating up to 145 delegates with two boardrooms adjacent.

The main Lecture Theatre remains on the ground floor sharing the space with five smaller meeting rooms and a range of boardrooms and breakout rooms. The Main Lecture Theatre will accommodate up to 451 delegates.

Savoy Place has been home to the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) for over 100 years. It is located in Savoy Place just off the Victoria Embankment close to Waterloo Bridge in central London and is within walking distance of a clutch of tube stations.
