The Victory Services Club (VSC) in central London will be launching its newly refurbished Trafalgar and El Alamein Suites next month.

The El Alamein Suite is slightly the larger of the two seating up to 100 delegates theatre style. Both suites combined will accommodate up to 200 delegates.

The suites will be available for conferences, meetings and receptions.

The Victory Services Club is a private members club for retired and serving members of the Armed Forces. It is located in Seymour Street near Marble Arch. As well as a range of eight meeting and events rooms, the VSC also has 202 ‘affordable’ bedrooms.

The Lodore Falls Hotel in the Lake District has received the go-ahead from the Lake District National Park Authority for a new hotel extension and spa.

Work is scheduled to start in January 2017 with a full ground floor refurbishment of the existing hotel encompassing bar, lounges, reception, restaurant, lobby and function room.

This work should be completed before summer 2017.

The next stage will see the demolition of the existing leisure facilities including the outdoor pool and squash court. In their place will be a new riverside, brasserie style restaurant overlooking Watendlath Beck, 18 new bedrooms and a full spa with treatment rooms, heat experiences and infinity spa pool.

Lodore Falls in Derwentwater is one of seven Lake District hotels which comprise the Lake District Hotels group. Crossbasket Castle hotel in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire has just reopened following an extensive refurbishment.

Crossbasket Castle’s features include a grand ballroom overlooking the waterfalls on the River Calder, plus nine individually-styled bedrooms, a drawing room, dining room and library all furnished with 14th, 15th and 16th century pieces from across Scotland.

Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh has just started an £8 million major refurbishment of its conference centre in the Scottish capital.

The refurbishment will include all the meeting rooms and the Sir John Crofton Room. The proposals will deliver a state-of-the-art auditorium seating up to 300 delegates with improved acoustics, temperature control, lighting, physical accessibility and an enhanced network infrastructure.

A spectacular glass atrium will ink the historic and modern buildings as well as providing new and interactive communal areas.

200 sq-mt of additional floor space in the new education hub will provide extra breakout and seminar space.

Existing facilities at the Royal College of Physicians will still be available for hire during the refurbishment.

The National Conference Centre has just completed a £50,000 refurbishment of its Crow’s Nest Suite. The National Conference Centre is the recently rebranded conference and events wing at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull.

The Crow’s Nest Suite is on the second floor. It now features a state-of-the-art AV system, high-tech lighting including simulated natural daylight, a data-projector and drop-down screen and complimentary wi-fi up to 10MBS.

The Crow’s Nest suite will accommodate up to 100 delegates for a theatre style meeting or 66 delegates cabaret style. The Wardroom Suite located across the corridor can be used as a breakout facility.

The Crow’s Nest Suite is suitable for meetings and training courses through to working lunches. It also features and external balcony which can be used for barbeques during the summer months.

There are 13 suites and meeting rooms in total encompassing 4550 sq-mt of events space at the National Conference Centre. The Imperial and Britannia Suites are the largest in terms of capacity.  The Crow’s Nest together with the Wardroom are more suitable for smaller more intimate events.

The group also operates two hotels: Best Western Manor Hotel Meriden with 112 bedrooms and Best Western Windmill Village Hotel in Coventry with 100 bedrooms.

The National Conference Centre is located at junction 6 of the M42 motorway at the heart of the Midlands motorway network. It is virtually alongside the NEC, Birmingham International Airport and Birmingham International   Station.
