The Barbican Centre in London has reopened its Frobisher rooms on Level 4 following an extensive £650,000 autumn refurbishment programme.
The Frobisher rooms comprise six individual conference suites each seating up to 50 delegates theatre style or 16 delegates boardroom style.
The suites are separated by removable sound proofed partitioning which when removed form two large rooms seating up to 170 delegates theatre style or 104 classroom style.
The Frobisher rooms now have new furniture and artwork throughout. Refreshed public areas include a new lounge space and central hub area to facilitate catering for informal events and breakout sessions.
The Frobisher rooms have natural daylight and are air conditioned. They are equipped with a built-in front projection screen, LCD projector and white board and can be blacked out for presentations.
The Barbican Centre is a well-known ‘Brutalist’ building and has a range of auditoria, rooms and spaces available for a wide variety of events, from conferences, AGMs, photoshoots and product launches to meetings, receptions and weddings.
The Barbican Centre was also the winner of ‘Coolest Conference & Exhibition Centre 2015’ award at Prestige Event’s COOL Awards

Jurys Inn Oxford has now completed its £10.8 million refurbishment. All 168 bedrooms have been refurbished with an additional 72 bedrooms due to launch in November, bringing the total number of bedrooms at Jurys Inn Oxford to 240.
The new-look bedrooms at Jurys Inn Oxford pay homage to Oxford’s motor manufacturing heritage with design details from both the Mini Cooper and Morris Minor.
The bedrooms now feature the new Jurys Inn bespoke ‘DREAM Bed’ with upgraded mattresses, pillows and bed linen.
Public areas including the lobby, bar, Costa coffee bar and restaurant have all been refreshed with a contemporary new décor, furnishings and artworks.
The refurbishment also extends to the conference and banqueting facilities at Jurys Inn Oxford. The new conference centre has 20 meeting rooms including a dedicated boardroom with integrated power sockets for wireless meetings and new breakout areas.
The largest meeting room, the University Suite, will accommodate up to 300 delegates.
Jurys Inn Oxford will launch a new bar, a renovated Juvenate Health and Leisure Club plus a new Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill in the New Year.
The new restaurant will have 180 covers and will be available to hire for corporate events.

Utopia Leisure, the new owner of Barnett Hill hotel in Guildford, is planning a major overhaul of the 58-bedroom property.
The renovation at Barnett Hill will reduce the number of bedrooms and the number of conference rooms, currently 19, in order to create some suites and to turn the property into a country house hotel.
Barnett Hill will remain open throughout its transformation.
Barnett Hill joins Alexander House Hotel in Sussex, Langshott Manor in Surrey and Rowhill Grange Hotel in Kent in the Utopia Leisure group.

The five-star Dukes London Hotel in St James’s is planning a multi-million pound refurbishment.
Dukes London will begin upgrading its meeting rooms this November, followed by a number of its 90 bedrooms and suites in January, as well as public areas including the Drawing Room.
Dukes London will also upgrade its Duchess rooms, which are aimed at the female solo traveller.
Dukes London is planning to introduce a new all-day casual dining concept under executive head chef Nigel Mendham.
Dukes London is owned by Dubai-based Seven Tides Hospitality. They are planning to open Dukes Oceana hotel in Dubai in December.

The Landmark London hotel is undergoing an extensive two-year long renovation. All the Landmark’s 291 bedrooms plus the Spa and Health Club will be revamped.
The new bedroom design at Landmark London will feature a neutral colour palette.
All bedrooms will include high-speed wi-fi, a flat screen TV and luxurious bathroom amenities.
Landmark London will remain open throughout with bedrooms refurbished on a rolling basis.
In early 2017 the Landmark London’s three spa treatment rooms, the 15-metre indoor swimming pool and the gym will also be refreshed.
The main events spaces including the Ballroom and Grand Ballroom were restored last August with new carpets, paintwork and marble restoration.
Landmark London Hotel is a Victorian-built railway hotel in Marylebone Road, a two minute walk from Marylebone rail and tube station.
