The Low Wood Bay hotel in the Lake District has temporarily closed in order to undergo a £16million redevelopment.

The development will see the complete renovation of the existing property including the upgrading of all existing bedrooms. A number of new rooms and suites are being added, many with views of Lake Windermere.

The development will also include the new ‘Bluesmoke’ Restaurant.

Low Wood Bay already has extensive indoor and outdoor leisure facilities including the usual indoor swimming pool and gym but also motor boats, kayaks, paddle boards, sailing boats and waterskiing on Lake Windermere. 

A new outside leisure space will include an infinity pool, sauna and Canadian hot tubs all with views across the lake towards the Langdale Pikes.

The first phase of the new-look Low Wood Bay is expected to open in April 2017.

Low Wood Bay currently has 111 well-furnished and equipped bedrooms with free wi-fi throughout. There are nine meeting and events rooms with the largest seating up to 340 delegates.

Low Wood Bay is four miles from Windermere Village and station (with good connections to the mainline West Coast trains to London, the Midlands and Scotland). It is around 20 miles from the M6 at junction 36.

The former Felbridge Hotel in East Grinstead is now rebranded as the Crowne Plaza Felbridge Hotel following completion of a £2.8 million refurbishment.

Novotel Nottingham-Derby has just completed a £4million refurbishment which has included all 110 bedrooms as well as the restaurant, public areas and meeting rooms.

St Giles London hotel begins its reception and lobby refurbishment straight after Christmas on 9th January 2017 for a period of approximately eight weeks. 

St Giles London will remain fully operational throughout and the hotel is keen to emphasise that the main works will take place on weekdays and any noisy works will be contained to the hours of 10am – 4pm. 

All bedroom floors will be unaffected and alternative routes to the lifts and breakfast areas maybe in place whilst essential works like stair and floor replacements are taking place.

De Vere Wotton House in Surrey has unveiled its £6 million renovation programme.

The project has included a renovation of all bedrooms plus the addition of 16 new junior suites bringing the total number of bedrooms to 127.

The Wotton House restaurant is also undergoing a full refurbishment, as well as the reception and public areas. This is due to be complete by the end of 2016.

The transformation has included a full restoration of the Evelyn Suite, Wotton’s principal event space. It now includes high speed outdoor wi-fi, so delegates can make the most of the Wotton House estate for corporate team building programmes and drinks receptions.
