The Laslett is a new 51-bedroom hotel which opens 1st September 2015 in London’s Notting Hill. The hotel is named after the organiser of the original Notting Hill Festival, which was the forerunner of the present-day Notting Hill Carnival.

The Laslett is spread across five Victorian mansions on Pembridge Gardens and will reflect the area’s vibrant cultural heritage. The ground floor of the Laslett will feature multifunctional space - part coffee shop, part bar-kitchen, part gallery, part concept store. The guest rooms and suites will combine modern furniture with personal quirks, such as well-thumbed books and curios from local antiques dealers, with photographs and artworks from local artists.

The Laslett is less than a minute from Notting Hill Gate underground station and a short walk from Portobello Road Market.

The Laslett It will be the fourth property from Living Rooms, a group which specialises in providing luxury hotel alternatives. Their other London locations are in Little Venice, Mayfair and Marylebone.

Chelsea Football Club is investigating plans to possibly extend their Stamford Bridge stadium. The club is looking to extend the ground from its current 41,798 capacity to 60,000.

Plans to move the club and build a new stadium at either Earl’s Court or Battersea Power station have proved to be unfeasible.

Redeveloping the historic Stamford Bridge could take up to three years to complete and result in the club relocating to another venue in the interim, such as Wembley or Twickenham.

The detailed proposals and how they will affect current non-match day events will be revealed at a Stamford Bridge exhibition running from June 30 to July 2.

Stamford Bridge currently has a range of event facilities with 24 function rooms and 60 syndicate rooms accommodating from two to 1,500 delegates plus the on-site Millennium and Copthorne Hotels at Stamford Bridge.

Beannchor, owner of the Merchant Hotel in central Belfast, has submitted plans to renovate Lagan House and convert it into a 55-bedroom hotel. Lagan House is an office block previously occupied by the Department of Justice.

The new hotel will be 'technology-led'  with work space featuring desk top computers with access for both residents and non-residents, high-speed wi-fi and charging points for mobile devices - plus a restaurant and bar, coffee shop and courtyard garden.

Subject to planning approval, Beannchor expects the 55-bedroom hotel to open in 2016.
