The Aloft Hotel forms part of the second phase of the new AECC masterplan.

When open it will join the Hilton Hotel on the AECC site at Bucksburn. It will be located just north of the Hilton Hotel which will adjoin the new AECC.

The four-storey Aloft Hotel is designed for the ‘next generation of travelers’. It will feature contemporary high-tech, urban-style interiors as well as the brand’s signature WXYZ® bar, Re:mixSM lounge and gym.

Aloft Hotel Aberdeen will be managed by Redefine|BDL Hotels.

There is no mention of a scheduled opening date but it is safe to assume it will not be this year.

Plans have been submitted to create a new aparthotel in Hull. The project would see the renovation of two historic buildings in Hull’s Old Town.

The buildings in question are the Grade II-listed Bayles House dating from the late-17thcentury and Danish Buildings dating from the mid-19thcentury.

Plans would see their repair, restoration and refurbishment for future office use with an aparthotel planned on the second floor of Bayles House.

Bayles House is located in the heart of Hull’s Old Town with views of the city and across the river. It is a two-minute walk from Humber Street and the Marina.

The project is being masterminded by a local company -  Allenby Commercial. They have experience of converting old buildings into aparthotels.

They built and now operate the 15-unit Hideout Apartment Hotel also located in Hull's Old Town and adjacent to Hull's Holy Trinity Church. The building was previously a head office building for Smith & Nephew.

Plans for Bayles House have been lodged with Hull City Council.

Leisure facilities at Merrow Hotel will include a luxury spa with sea views, a leisure club with a 20m pool, a glass sauna and infinity pool, a steam room plus a gym and studio.

PIG Hotel group has announced plans to add three new hotels to its litter – in Kent, West Sussex and Cornwall.

The first to open will be the ‘PIG at Bridge Place’ at what was formerly Bridge Place Country Club (pictured left).

The building is a 16thcentury manor house located just outside the village of Bridge in the Nailbourne valley and three miles south of Canterbury.

The main building includes a wealth of period features, including large fireplaces, secret stairways, panelled rooms and lots of nooks and crannies. These will be retained and enhanced creating seven bedrooms as well as bars and lounge areas.

The Coach House alongside the main building will accommodate a further 12 bedrooms.

The restored Gate Lodge will include two bedrooms and seven ‘hop pickers’ huts will be created from reclaimed materials on an island within the grounds.

The PIG at Bridge Place will have a total of 28 bedrooms.

Coach House will also feature a conservatory restaurant with an open kitchen and views onto the kitchen gardens.

Renovation work will start shortly with The PIG at Bridge Place scheduled to open in autumn 2018.

The second new PIG Hotel is planned in West Sussex. The group acquired the Grade II-listed Madehurst Lodge, near Arundel, last year. They are planning a conversion with the property opening as The South Downs PIG in 2019.

Finally, the Grade II-listed Harlyn House near Padstow in Cornwall is set to become The PIG at Harlyn Bay. It is scheduled to be open by summer 2019.
