New owners of the former Bow Street Magistrates’ Court building in central London plan to convert it into a hotel.

The Grade II-listed Magistrates Court – which staged the trials of Oscar Wilde and the Kray Twins amongst many others – ceased its legal function in 2006. Planning permission was granted in 2013 to convert it into a 100 bedroom hotel.

A £125million investment is planned and a world class boutique hotel is the object  - with an anticipated opening in 2019.

Chef, Michael Caines, is planning a spring 2017 opening of Lympstone Manor, a new luxury country retreat in Devon.

Lympstone Manor is a Grade II-listed Georgian mansion set in 28 acres of grounds located between Exeter and Exmouth, with views overlooking the Exe Estuary.

Lympstone Manor, a former private house, will have 21 contemporary styled bedrooms and three dining rooms each with its own decor and identity: Haldon, Mamhead, and Powderham.

Lympstone Manor will include two basement cellars as well as a wine tasting and dispense room. Future plans include the planting of a vineyard on the slopes leading down to the Exe estuary.

Lympstone Manor is a short distance from Exeter, easily reachable by train, car or air.

Architects, Jestico + Whiles, have been given the green light for a new village centre at Heyford Park in Oxfordshire.

The new scheme near Bicester will see two disused buildings on the former US airforce base turned into an American brasserie, boutique hotel, delicatessen and market hall, café and brunch bar.

The new facility will also include work spaces, play areas and a landscaped area.

Work on the project will begin early next year with construction estimated to take around 12 months.

The base at Heyford Park was used by the RAF as a training facility between 1918 and 1950 before being taken over by US who used it to house B-52 bombers and U2 spy planes. It was handed back to the Ministry of Defence in 1994 but has since been abandoned.
