Westmont Hospitality Group, the new owner of the Lowry Hotel in Manchester, is planning a major £4million refurbishment of the landmark hotel on the Manchester/Salford border.

A comprehensive makeover is planned for the 165-bedroom hotel including new curtains, carpets, fabrics and colour schemes throughout the bedrooms and public areas. A final decision is expected in March or April with the refurbishment complete by the end of 2015.

The Lowry Hotel is located on Dearmans Place next to Trinity Bridge a short walk from Deansgate in central Manchester. It is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World consortium.

The All Nations Centre in Cardiff is extending its grand foyer at the hub of the centre. The foyer is being enlarged and updated to allow more social space and to provide more overflow and refreshment facilities when the adjacent Main Hall is at capacity.

The Spa Hotel at Ribby Hall Village in Lancashire has just opened its new Wellness Suite; an extension to the hotel’s existing thermal zone spa.

The Wellness Suite will help clients identify and understand underlying health issues – to be explained by a specialist team of doctors, physiotherapists, personal trainers and lifestyle coaches. It is open to the spa’s day visitors and the hotel’s residential guests. The centre will also offer advice on nutrition, food intolerance testing, food allergy testing, nutritional therapy, weight management programmes as well as general health and wellbeing testing.

EEF Venues have invested £80,000 refurbishing the kitchens at Engineers’ House in Bristol. The new facilities now provide a better working environment and are complete with low energy appliances and LED lighting panels.

The venue has also upgraded its audio visual equipment to enhance delegates’ experience at Engineers’ House.

Engineers’ House is a Grade II-listed conference centre in Clifton Down, Bristol. The house dates from 1831 and overlooks Westbury Park. Engineers’ House has nine meeting rooms accommodating up to 170 delegates with a restaurant located in a converted vault.
