The contemporary Townfields restaurant, the latest addition to the Best Western Cresta Court hotel in Altrincham, south Manchester, has just opened its doors.

It features a contemporary interior design with seating in a range of round booths as well as traditional chairs and tables, for intimate dining occasions as well as for business gatherings.

A new 21-bedroom boutique hotel is planned in New Waverley district of central Edinburgh.

The hotel will be created from a former Victorian school building originally designed in 1901.

The hotel will be operated by Apple Apartments. It will include 21 double-height apartments, each with a mezzanine level with separate sleeping and living areas. A feature of the building, a glass atrium which forms part of the central hall, will remain.

Subject to final planning approval, the new Apple hotel is scheduled to open in the second half of 2017.

The New Waverley site encompasses 7.5 acres of central Edinburgh linking Edinburgh Waverley Station to the Royal Mile. The new hotel will join Adagio Aparthotel Edinburgh which is expected to open on the same development next year.

A Nadler Hotel is set to open in the new St John’s development in central Manchester. The 13 acre site was the former home of Granada Television Studios.

Nadler Hotel will occupy ten floors of the new 55-storey St John’s Place, destined to be the tallest building in Manchester.

Nadler Hotel Manchester will have 110 boutique-style bedrooms and suites, restaurants, bars, leisure and event facilities.  The St John’s Place development will also include residential units, cafes and restaurants.

Nadler currently have three hotels in London: in Soho, Victoria and Kensington plus a hotel in Liverpool and a newly acquired site in Covent Garden in London.

St. John’s Place is set to launch in 2019.

Plans for a new boutique hotel on a regeneration site in Leeds have been recommended for approval.

The hotel is earmarked for the first phase of a regeneration site on the northern fringe of Leeds city centre in a building last occupied by Centrica. It will be located next to Bridge Street and close to the Victoria Gate scheme in the city.

Plans envisage a recladding of the existing 12-storey tower to form a 182-bedroom hotel with a restaurant and gym.  The development is expected to be a three or four star standard hotel although no hotel operator has been confirmed.
