IHG has signed an agreement to develop a hotel near Heathrow Airport with dual brands. The two hotels will be Holiday Inn London - Heathrow Bath Road and Staybridge Suites London - Heathrow Bath Road. Both are due to open in 2018.

Staybridge Suites London - Heathrow Bath Road will have 190 bedrooms.
Holiday Inn London - Heathrow Bath Road alongside will have 433 bedrooms.

Located on Bath Road, the hotels will be close to the main entrances to Terminals 1, 2 & 3 of Heathrow Airport.

Holiday Inn London - Heathrow Bath Road will feature the brand’s signature ‘Open Lobby’, which combines the front desk, lobby, restaurant, bar, lounge area and business centre into one open, cohesive and contemporary space.

Staybridge Suites London - Heathrow Bath Road will feature studio and one-bedroom suites each with a fully equipped kitchen, LED television, work areas, air conditioning and free wireless internet throughout.

The two hotels will also have seven meeting rooms, an onsite gym each and over 300 parking spaces.

IHG currently have 309 hotels open in the UK under its collective brand banners, including five existing hotels near Heathrow Airport.

Starwood Hotels has unveiled plans to open a new 150-bedroom Aloft Hotel alongside the American Express Community Stadium, home of Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club. It is scheduled to open in September 2017.

The hotel is part of a major development at the Brighton stadium. The project also includes a specialist cancer treatment centre which will be sited underneath the hotel.

Aloft Brighton will feature loft-like guest bedrooms with platform beds and walk-in showers. It will include the brand’s signature W XYZSM bar, an onsite restaurant, Aloft’s signature Re:chargeSM fitness centre; 55 sq-mt of fully equipped meeting space and Re:fuelSM by Aloft, a deli option for guests ‘on the go’. Aloft Brighton will offer fast and free wi-fi throughout.

The American Express Community Stadium has very good transport links. There is an on-site mainline rail station and parking for 422 cars. It is located within close proximity of Brighton city-centre.

Aloft Brighton will be the group’s fourth property to open in the UK joining Aloft Liverpool, Aloft London ExCeL and Aloft London Tobacco Dock opening in 2018.

Cinema chain, Odeon, has announced plans to open a second branch of ‘Lounge by ODEON’, its lounge cinema concept, at the new Islington Square development in London.

Lounge by ODEON Islington will feature a 22,000 sq. ft. six-screen fine-dining cinema. It is scheduled to open late 2017.

The Lounge will be available for private event hire. It will be equipped with state-of-the-art HD, big screen technology and full digital surround sound, together with free wi-fi.

Catering will extend from popcorn, refreshments and sweets to working breakfasts, buffet lunches and evening drinks receptions.

The Islington Square complex is a reworking of the former North London Mail Centre. Once complete, Islington Square will form a £400 million, 4.5 acre Covent Garden-style centre with residential properties, retail and leisure facilities.

Planners at Manchester City Council have approved plans to convert the former CIS Tower once occupied by Co-operative Insurance Society  into a 14-storey office building with a new 10-floor 183-bedroom hotel with a casino built alongside as part of the scheme.

The tower block in Portland Street, on the edge of Manchester's Chinatown, was built in 1961. The building is currently largely vacant after the Co-operative Group left five years ago.
