The Victorian Bath House is a new event space opening in December 2015 in The City of London. Currently undergoing a major refurbishment, the Victorian Bath House is a Grade II-listed space. It will host standing receptions for up to 150 guests as well as seated breakfasts, lunches, dinners and roadshow groups from 20-90 people.

The Victorian Bath House was erected in 1895 by Henry & James Forder Nevill to house a new Turkish Bath. The baths housed a cooling room containing a fountain of cold filtered water and a series of cubicles kitted out with couches, mirrors and occasional tables. Leading off from the cooling room were three hot rooms with marble mosaic floors and elaborately tiled walls and ceilings.

The baths remained open until 1954 then the building was used for storage until it was converted into a restaurant in 1970.

The Victorian Bath House is located in Bishopsgate Churchyard, a short walk from Liverpool Street Station.

JD Wetherspoon has unveiled plans for a £10million upgrade of Glasgow’s Crystal Palace pub which would include building a new 73-bedroom hotel.

A vacant site alongside the pub would house 45 bedrooms with converted vacant office space above the two-storey pub used to create a further 28 bedrooms. An application will be submitted to Glasgow City Council.

The Crystal Palace in Jamaica Street was designed by John Baird and completed in 1856. Its iron and glass structure was said to be influenced by Joseph Paxton's famous Crystal Palace in London.

JD Wetherspoon currently has 36 hotels in the UK, including seven in Scotland. They all feature an en-suite bathroom, free wi-fi, a flatscreen television and tea and coffee making facilities.
