Tune Hotels, the Asian-based budget hotel chain, plans to add 25 new properties in the UK by the end of the decade. The group already has five hotels in London with a sixth opening in Canary Wharf (picture) in the New Year plus one in Edinburgh and one in Newcastle.

Tune Hotels are now targeting business cities such as Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds as well as more sites in London and university cities. Their other hotels are mainly in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand.

Tune Hotels feature ‘space-efficient’, minimally-priced bedrooms with a good quality bed and a powerful hot shower with a ‘pay as you use’ system in place for optional extras i.e. for a towel, a television or wi-fi. The Tune concept is based on the proposition that business and leisure guests spend little time in their rooms but above all want a good night sleep.
