Elizabeth Gaskell's house and gardens in Manchester, the home of the author of ‘Cranford’ amongst other novels, reopens this weekend following an extensive renovation masterminded by Manchester Historic Buildings Trust. The ground floor reception rooms will available for events and small exhibitions.

The restored Grade II-listed property is located in Plymouth Grove in Ardwick. It was built between 1835-1841 when Ardwick was a garden suburb of Manchester. It is now close to the University Quarter on the south side of the city.

Brand Exchange is a new and exclusive members club opening in November 2014 in the City of London. It is a recently renovated, Grade II-listed building located in Birchin Lane.

Brand Exchange features two private rooms available for hire; an Executive Boardroom and an Events Suite, with catering available in both rooms.

The 20 sq-mt Executive Boardroom can be used as a presentation suite or as a boardroom. It includes a large HD screen, high-speed internet and broadband connections and audio-conferencing facilities - for meetings, workshops, webcasts, teleconferences and broadcasting.

The 66 sq-mt Events Suite is on the first floor and is the main flexible space at Brand Exchange. It will accommodate up to 60 guests standing and can be used for intimate medium-scale events.

Birchin Lane, is a bustling alleyway just south of the Royal Exchange and a two minute walk from Bank Station.

The finalists for the Football Business Awards have been announced. The shortlist for the category of ‘Best non-match day use of their venue’ includes:

The Football Business Awards will be held at Stamford Bridge on 6th November 2014 - the third year it has been held at the Chelsea venue. The Awards recognise the people behind the scenes who help to shape the whole football industry, off rather than on the pitch. The judges are all senior influential figures from football world and the wider business community.

Classic Lodges have added two hotels to their portfolio. They are the Parkway Hotel and Spa in Cwmbran, south Wales and Hadley Park House in Telford.

Parkway Hotel and Spa has 70 bedrooms, Ravello’s restaurant and bar, a leisure club and spa plus six purpose-built, naturally-lit meeting rooms set around a central lobby accommodating from two to 400 delegates. Parkway Hotel and Spa is five miles from Cwmbran and Newport stations and 30 miles from Cardiff Airport.

Hadley Park House (pictured left) is a Grade II-listed house in two acres of grounds with 22 bedrooms split between the main house and the newer West Wing. Dorrells is the conservatory restaurant. The Mulliner Suite is the largest meeting room accommodating up to 200 delegates theatre style with smaller boardrooms and syndicate rooms also available. The hotel grounds are available for team-building activities. Hadley Park House is located north of the main town of Telford with good access to the M54 at junction 5.

Gleneagles Hotel has announced plans for a new 2500 square metre event space – The Gleneagles Arena - due to launch in spring 2015. It will be located within Gleneagles’ 850 acre estate, as part of its Activity School complex.

The Gleneagles Arena will convert its existing equestrian arena into a versatile event space which will include a 4-court indoor tennis centre.

The Gleneagles Arena project represents a £650,000 investment. It is designed to host conferences, exhibitions, product launches, concerts and team-building events with a capacity for 500 to 2000 delegates.

Gleneagles Hotel already has 232 luxury bedrooms, fourteen meeting and banqueting rooms and a wide range of leisure activities. Gleneagles Arena will enable the hotel to attract larger groups in future.

Gleneagles is situated in Auchterarder, in the heart of Scotland near Perth and Stirling on the A9.
