The 55-bedroom Royal Kings Arms was constructed in the seventeenth century and rebuilt in the nineteenth century. The hotel claims Victorian novelist, Charles Dickens, as one of its earlier guests.

New owners of the Grade II-listed Royal Kings Arms now plan a refurbishment of the ground floor and basement to provide a coffee bar, bistro and restaurant plus a new reception.

The work will also include re-painting the front façade to reinstate it in “historic paint colours” and enhance the appearance of the building.

A small extension is also proposed for the rear of the building.

Bedrooms at the Royal Kings Arms are decorated and furnished in a contemporary style – with complimentary wi-fi throughout.

The hotel has three meeting and events rooms to accommodate up to 100 delegates.

The Royal Kings Arms is located in Market Street in the centre of Lancaster, a short walk from Lancaster station on the West Coast Line.

The new-look ‘Directors Club’ is sited on the second floor of the Trinity Stand, the main stand at Villa Park, with panoramic views around the stadium.

The Directors Club has a contemporary new design, furniture and state-of-the-art AV. The room also has an open kitchen and its own bar.

The Directors Club will accommodate up to 80 delegates for a theatre style meeting, 16 classroom style and 25 boardroom style.

The group now intends to carry out a multimillion-pound refurbishment of the hotel.
