A new 100-bedroom hotel and a business hub are planned in Liverpool as part of the £260million regeneration of Anfield currently being overseen by Liverpool City Council in partnership with local interests including Liverpool Football Club.

The proposed hotel, which is likely to cost up to £10million, would support training and employment opportunities in the hospitality trade for local young people.

The regeneration of Anfield includes the redevelopment of Liverpool FC's main stand, new and refurbished housing, improved shopping facilities and public spaces, office buildings as well as the training hotel.

Liverpool Football Club has just held a topping-out ceremony for the Main Stand expansion of their Anfield stadium. The new Main Stand is set to become one of the largest all-seater single stands in European football.

Celtic Manor Resort which acquired the Hilton Newport hotel in January 2016 will be relaunching the 148-bedroom property as the Coldra Court Hotel by Celtic Manor on 31st March 2016.

Coldra Court Hotel by Celtic Manor will have a restaurant, bar, extensive leisure facilities and nine flexible meeting rooms accommodating from two to 300 delegates.

Celtic Manor Resort’s portfolio now includes the main Resort Hotel with a purpose-designed Convention Centre including the 1200-delegate Caernarfon Suite. The Convention Centre has an adjoining pre-function area plus an additional 24 syndicate and meeting rooms, ranging from those seating ten boardroom style up to 170 delegates for a conference.

Their portfolio also includes an historic 19th century Manor House and the Celtic Manor Golf Club – both with meeting and event facilities.

Recently, Celtic Manor has gained full planning permission to construct a new Wales International Convention Centre to be built in the Cardiff Capital Region.

Development work has started on the new Postal Museum scheduled to open in central London in 2017.

The Postal Museum explores centuries of British history through the lens of the postal service, all brought to life through objects, stories and interactive experiences. The Royal Mail archive dates back to the 1800s but this is the first time its treasures have been brought together under one roof.

The highlight of a visit to the Postal Museum will be the opportunity to travel on the Mail Rail - the Royal Mail's private underground railway.

The Postal Museum will a cafe and shop. Details of meeting and banqueting facilities at the Postal Museum have not been released yet.

The Postal Museum and Mail Rail will be located next to each another at Phoenix Place in central London approximately ten minutes from Farringdon, Angel, King Cross and Chancery Lane stations.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced plans to open Hotel Indigo, the group’s ‘boutique’ brand,  in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The 92-bedroom Hotel Indigo Stratford-upon-Avon is expected to open in early 2018. It will feature a restaurant, bar and lounge, gym and meeting facilities.

Hotel Indigo Stratford-upon-Avon will be rebranded from the existing Falcon Hotel in Chapel Street in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon.

There are currently nine Hotel Indigo properties in the UK with a further eight in the pipeline.

Roxy Ball Room, a new ping-pong bar, has just opened in the centre of Liverpool.

Roxy Ball Room Liverpool has five ping-pong tables and four pool tables, plus a bar with a VIP room available for private hire that can accommodate groups of up to 60 people.

Roxy Ball Room Liverpool is the group’s second property joining Roxy Ball Room Leeds.

Roxy Ball Room offers a mix of gaming, cocktails, beer and bar snacks, including fresh dough pizza and homemade hamburgers as well as the games tables.

Roxy Ball Room is located in Hanover Street in the Liverpool ONE complex in the city centre.
