Fairview Hotels continues its UK expansion with the acquisition of four properties.

Fairview Hotels has acquired four Novotel hotels from Land Securities. The hotels include: Novotel Coventry, Novotel Ipswich, Novotel Manchester West and Novotel Wolverhampton. All properties will remain under franchise agreement with AccorHotels.

Fairview Hotels now operate a portfolio of nine hotels totalling 960 bedrooms. They are all under franchise agreements with AccorHotels:  two Mercure hotels, six Novotels and one Ibis.

Fairview have also just entered into a relationship with Black & White Hospitality and Marco Pierre White and launched a Marco’s New York Italian restaurant at their flagship London Hotel - Hotel Mercure London Bloomsbury (pictured).

Whittlebury Hall & Spa near Towcester in Northamptonshire has been acquired by the owners of the Whittlebury Park estate and integrated in the 300-acre site.

The newly created single business now includes a four-star hotel with 254 bedrooms, a conference and training centre with conference and banqueting facilities for over 3000 delegates, an extensive leisure club with spa facilities and outdoor event activities plus a 36-hole Championship golf course.

Whittlebury Park estate is also adjacent to the Silverstone sporting venue, home of the British Grand Prix.

Whittlebury Park estate is set within parkland that was once part of the Royal hunting ground of Whittlewood. It is now one of the largest privately owned hotel and leisure facilities in the UK.

Marriott International’s Luxury Collection brand has added two central London hotels to its portfolio. They are:

The Wellesley, a Luxury Collection Hotel, located in Knightsbridge with 36 bedrooms which will join in the first half of 2017.

The Westbury, a Luxury Collection Hotel, located in Mayfair with 225 bedrooms and 43 suites which joins the brand in spring 2017 following a full renovation.

The Luxury Collection is a former Starwood Hotels & Resorts brand and now owned by Marriott International.

Currently there are two Luxury Collection hotels in the UK: Trump Turnberry in Ayrshire and the Park Tower Knightsbridge in London. Worldwide the Luxury Collection comprises 111 hotels in 30 countries.

Marriott plan to open a further 12 Luxury Collection hotels globally by the end of 2017.

The Grade II-listed Pier House Hotel in Charlestown, Cornwall has just been sold to St Austell Brewery.

The quayside hotel, which overlooks the harbour and Saint Austell Bay, includes 27 bedrooms, a bar/bistro and an à la carte restaurant.

Pier House Hotel has featured in films including ‘The Eagle Has Landed’ and more recently has had a starring role as part of the port setting in episodes of the BBC’s Poldark series.

Previously called the Charlestown Hotel, the Pier House was built in 1794 as two farm cottages. The farmhouse began taking in paying guests before the First World War and became a hotel. 

Pier House Hotel joins fifteen small hotels and inns in the St Austell Brewery group - all located throughout Cornwall and South Devon.

Victory House, London, MGallery by Sofitel is a new 86-bedroom boutique hotel opening in Victory House, in London’s Leicester Square in March 2017.

Victory House, London, MGallery by Sofitel will be operated by Bespoke Hotel. It will consist of three one-bed suites, six signature suites,13 deluxe bedrooms 58 standard bedrooms plus a total of six accessible bedrooms – all with the latest luxury fittings and free wi-fi throughout.

The hotel will feature a ground floor bistro restaurant.

Victory House is a heritage site overlooking Leicester Square and within a stone’s throw of London’s theatreland.
