Hotel Xenia in London is joining Marriott International’s Autograph Collection. It will be Autograph Collection’s third hotel in London, joining St Ermin’s and Threadneedles.

Hotel Xenia is an urban designed hotel located in a Victorian building in South Kensington. Hotel Xenia has 99 boutique-styled bedrooms and suites including the Xenia Suite with its own private balcony and onyx stone Turkish bath, complete with impressive views over west London.

The recently approved new aparthotel in the Ropewalks area of Liverpool city centre will be operated by the Vincent Hotels group.

The development, in Seel Street, will be a seven-storey aparthotel with 42 apartments comprising ten one-bedroom and 32 two-bedroom serviced apartments. The development will include a ground-floor restaurant/bar as well as a fifth-floor rooftop bar terrace.

Vincent Hotels group, owned by Paul Adams, also includes the 59-bedroom Vincent Hotel in Southport and the Vincent Café & Cocktail Bar (which he co-owns with former Liverpool Football Club captain, Stephen Gerrard) in Liverpool city centre.

Aparthotel by Vincent on Seel Street is scheduled to open in December 2017.


Construction work has now started on site on the new £333million Exhibition and Conference Centre in Aberdeen.

The project, which will be funded by Aberdeen City Council, is located on the 130 acre former Rowett Research Institute site adjacent to Aberdeen International Airport.

The Conference Centre will include a 12,500 capacity performance venue, extensive covered exhibition halls, 2,500 parking spaces plus a four-star 200-bedroom Hilton branded hotel.

The development also includes plans for another 150-bedroom hotel operated under the Aloft brand.

The new Exhibition and Conference Centre in Aberdeen is expected to be completed in 2019.

The former Carlton Hotel, in the centre of Edinburgh, has emerged from a £17million extensive refurbishment programme and reopened as the Hilton Edinburgh Carlton.

Planning permission has been granted by Westminster City Council for development of the new 83-bedroom boutique Wellington Hotel in London’s Covent Garden.

The Wellington Hotel will be a joint venture between Hollywood actor Robert De Niro, Capital & Counties (Capco) and BD Hotels. Robert de Niro already operates the Greenwich Hotel in New York also in partnership with BD Hotels.

The London property will span six adjacent buildings – three of which are Grade II-listed. The Wellington Hotel will feature luxury spa facilities, two restaurants, a cafe, a central courtyard and a 64-cover private members club.

Work will begin on the development next year, with the hotel expected to open its doors in 2019.
