The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Birmingham is to refurbish its bar and restaurant concept with the aim of encouraging more local residents into the hotel. The new-look bar will be styled on a traditional tavern and will include an outside terrace onto Bridge Street, alongside the hotel. The 319-bedroom Hyatt Regency Hotel, located opposite Birmingham’s International Convention Centre (ICC), has earmarked £6million for its refurbishment. So far all the guest rooms, suites and the hotel’s eight conference rooms and ballroom have been refurbished and the hotel is set to re-launch this summer. As well as the ICC, the Hyatt Regency Birmingham also faces the new-look Birmingham Rep and the new Birmingham Library. It is also only a five minute walk from the newly refurbished Birmingham New Street Station.

New owners of Clough Manor Hotel in Saddleworth in the foothills of the Lancashire Pennines have raised finance to continue their refurbishment of the 18th century farmhouse hotel. Since taking over last year they have renovated all 25 bedrooms, the restaurant and public areas. Meeting facilities now include the Denshaw Room accommodating up to 140 delegates theatre style, an Atrium to seat up to 60 delegates and the Sir William Walton Room seating 12 delegates boardrooms style. The ground floor of the hotel is air-conditioned and there is free wi-fi throughout.
Clough Manor Hotel is five minutes from both J21 and J22 of the M62 motorway between Manchester and Leeds. A Manchester tram Metrolink station is five minutes from the hotel with trams every 12 minutes into central Manchester.

Colchester Castle museum reopened at the beginning of May 2014 following a £4.2 million refurbishment.
Colchester Castle's main hire space, the Charles Gray Room, has been fully refurbished as part of the project and is now available to hire for private or corporate functions. The Charles Gray Room is a fully accessible room sited on the first floor of the castle. The room is available during the day or evening. Evening hire includes exclusive use of the Castle galleries. The Charles Gray Room will accommodate between 60-70 delegates for a theatre style meeting or up to 100 guests for a standing reception, rising to 200 if the galleries are also used.

Colchester Castle will host a modern chariot race on June 7 to mark the multi-million pound redevelopment. The race will feature six teams representing the Roman, Iceni, Saxon, Norman, Cavalier and Roundhead eras, which will go head to head racing chariots around the Colchester Castle in a Battle of the Ages medieval festival.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced that it has sold its leasehold interest in The Park Lane Hotel, London but will continue to operate the hotel as a Sheraton brand under a new long-term management contract. A major renovation of the 303 bedroom hotel located in Piccadilly, overlooking Green Park, is planned to start this autumn. On completion the hotel will be more clearly branded as the Sheraton Park Lane.

The Ballygally Castle Hotel in Northern Ireland has reopened following its £3million refurbishment. The hotel, owned by Hastings Hotels, now features the new Kintyre Ballroom which has replaced the old River Room. The new ballroom will accommodate up to 250 guests. 18 new deluxe coastal and garden view bedrooms have also been added bringing the total number of bedrooms to 54.
Ballygally Castle is located on the Antrim coast, 26 miles from Belfast.
