The Falcon Hotel in Stratford upon Avon has new owners – the St James's Hotel Group – with plans to invest up to £6million  refurbishing the hotel over the next few years.

The four-star Falcon Hotel, with a frontage dating back to the late 15th century, is located in Chapel Street close to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. The hotel has 83 bedrooms, seven meeting rooms, two restaurants, two bars and parking for 120 cars.


The London EDITION has re-launched its two event studios located on the first floor of the hotel. The studios have been redesigned to make them multi-functional and more in keeping with the design of the hotel.

Studio 1will accommodate up to 12 delegates for a boardroom meeting. It is a room with plenty of natural daylight and is equipped with a plasma screen and free wi-fi (available throughout the hotel). Studio 2 is larger and also with natural daylight. It will seat up to 26 delegates boardroom style and can also be used for private dining or receptions. The Basement is the largest event space in London EDITION accommodating up to 60 guests for a banquet.

The London EDITION, formerly Berners Hotel, is located in Berners Street just off Oxford Street in central London midway between Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road tube stations.

Mercure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel, Box Hill in Surrey re-opened on Monday 1st September 2014 after an extensive nine-month restoration programme which extended from the entrance and public areas to the restaurant and bar, all 57 bedrooms and eight meeting rooms. The hotel's Tithe Barn has also received a makeover.

The hotel started life as the Fox and Hounds Inn around 1254. Literary residents have included John Keats, Robert Louis Stevenson, William Wordsworth and Richard Sheridan. Jane Austen also frequented the hotel.

Work has just started on a £1.2million new spa development at Kinmel Manor Hotel in Abergele, north Wales.
The new spa will house six-treatment rooms with a hydrotherapy pool, a gymnasium as well as a sauna and steam room. Completion of the work is expected by the end of 2014.

Kinmel Manor includes 42 modern bedrooms and suites plus a restaurant and bar. Seven meeting rooms will accommodate between two and 300 delegates with a full range of AV equipment available on-site. The hotel grounds are also available for outdoor activities.

Kinmel Manor is located on the outskirts of Abergele, minutes away from the A55 North Wales Expressway.

Alexander House, a five star hotel in East Grinstead, will be opening nineteen new Cedar Lodge Suites in September 2014. The suites will be housed in a new building next to the original 17th century hotel.

The suites include Garden and Garden Deluxe Suites plus a Duplex Garden Master Suite. All have a separate dining area and most have a private balcony or terrace.  The Duplex Garden Master Suite is spread across two floors with an open plan lounge and dining area with floor to ceiling views that lead onto a private terrace.
