Acklam Hall is a Grade I-listed building in Middlesbrough. It reopens its doors in February 2016 following an 18 month renovation which has seen dozens of its original rooms and features returned to their original grandeur.

Acklam Hall dates back to the 1680s and was a private home for almost 250 years, before becoming a school in the 1930s.

The new-look Acklam Hall now be home to Brierley Restaurant, named after the architect Walter Brierley who designed the alterations to the Hall in 1912. Other facilities include four events suites and 18 serviced offices.

Acklam Hall will also have a number of fully-equipped conference and meeting spaces accommodating from two to 140 delegates.

Acklam Hall is located within easy reach of the A19 and A66. It is close to Middlesbrough Station and Durham Tees Valley Airport.

Crossbasket Castle in Blantyre near East Kilbride, Glasgow is set to open spring 2016 as a nine-bedroom luxury hotel.

The project has been a labour of love for the owners who bought the property in 2011 and have since invested £9million restoring the castle, which had been languishing on the Buildings at Risk Register.

Crossbasket Castle was built in the 15th century and was once owned by Charles Mackintosh of waterproof fabric fame.

As well as the nine luxury bedroom, Crossbasket Castle will also include a grand ballroom for up to 250 guests. This overlooks the waterfalls on the River Calder. A drawing room, dining room and a library complete the line-up.

Crossbasket Castle will be managed by Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI). They also manage a range of Scotland's most renowned small luxury hotels.

Bath Racecourse has been granted planning approval to build a new grandstand overlooking the final furlong of the track.

The new grandstand will include a public bar on the ground floor with viewing steps for spectators and a 200-seat trackside restaurant and balcony on the middle floor. The top floor will consist of an exclusive covered roof terrace. The new grandstand will also include large function space for non-raceday events, including conferences, banquets and weddings.

Work has already started on landscaping the site. Following the latest approvals construction on the new grandstand will begin immediately. The new stand is expected to open summer 2016.

Bath Racecourse Executive Director Jo Hall said “We are already receiving enquiries for events in the new facilities and we are expecting the new conference suite to be popular with organisers of corporate entertainment and events, especially since we are able to offer free parking for all guests.”

Bath Racecourse is situated on Lansdown Hill, overlooking the City of Bath.
