Staycity, the Dublin-based serviced apartment operator, has announced plans to open 106 studio apartments in London’s Covent Garden in December 2015.
Staycity currently have three serviced apartment blocks in London, at Heathrow Airport, Deptford Bridge and in Greenwich High Road.

Staycity have also started building work on a new 170-bed Staycity Aparthotel located in the Newhall Square mixed-used scheme in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter Conservation Area (see picture left). The new aparthotel will wrap around a three-storey Grade II-listed Victorian warehouse and is scheduled to open in May 2015.

Further north in Manchester it is understood that Staycity have plans to convert Gateway House, the S-shaped building on the approach road up to Piccadilly Station in Manchester, into an aparthotel. The building currently has retail outlets on the ground floor but the upper office floors are empty. Planning permission was granted in 2011 to create a 182-bedroom aparthotel but the scheme never progressed. More

Ace Hotel London Shoreditch has recently opened meeting space on their seventh floor, at the top of the building, with loads of natural daylight and views across the London skyline. The largest facility is 100 Room with 600 sq-ft of space for business meetings, private receptions or dinners. It will seat up to 55 delegate theatre style and it has almost 3000 sq-ft of terrace and balcony alongside with two bar areas. It is equipped with a teleconferencing system, wi-fi and multi-zone audio plus a 90" video wall.

The Britannia Room is slightly larger capacity-wise up, seating up to 60 delegates theatre style. It has its own private 345 square foot balcony and it too is fitted with a teleconferencing system, wi-fi, multi-zone audio, a drop-down screen and a mobile projector with Mac and PC inputs.

Four individual boardrooms will seat between 10 and 20 delegates. Each is equipped with the same hi-spec technology.

Ace Hotel London Shoreditch has 258 bedrooms plus Hoi Polloi a modern English brasserie restaurant. Wi-fi is free of charge throughout the hotel.  Ace Hotel London Shoreditch is ‘a place where art, design, culinary innovation, culture and tech gather and phosphoresce from the heat of collaboration, inspiration and a soft spot for the future’. Sandy Park Conference and Banqueting Centre and home to Devon's rugby team, the Exeter Chiefs, has reopened following a £10 million transformation this summer. In addition to an upgraded pitch and increased capacity in the stands the stadium has doubled the size of its four main event spaces and added six new executive boxes.

The largest meeting space is the Exeter Suite, a room with natural daylight and air-conditioning, equipped with three data projectors, six plasma screens and an internal PA system. The Exeter Suite will accommodate up to 850 delegates for a meeting or 600 guests for a banquet. The three other main rooms seat 172, 240 and 320 delegates. In addition there are nine second floor flexible syndicate rooms all overlooking the pitch.

Sandy Park Conference Centre is located close to junction 30 of the M5, ten minutes from Exeter International Airport.

The Venue at the Royal Liver Building has just opened on the first floor of the Royal Liver Building in Liverpool.

The venue’s main space is a contemporary gallery styled room with plenty of natural daylight and views across the River Mersey. It also has its own adjacent balcony. The main room will accommodate up to 120 delegates theatre style. On the floor just above, the oak-panelled boardroom used in the past by the Royal Liver Friendly Society is also available for hire. This room will seat up to 21 delegates for a boardroom meeting or 80 guests for a standing reception. All the latest technology is included on-site, along with free wi-fi.

The Venue at the Royal Liver Building can host a wide range of events from conferences and product launches to fashion shows and photo shoots.

The Royal Liver Building itself is Grade I-listed and it is located at Pier Head in Liverpool, surrounded by a range of hotels from across the price spectrum – and a short walk from the Albert Dock and Liverpool Lime Street station.

Hilton London Paddington open 56 new premium rooms on 1st December 2014. The rooms will all be located in a new wing of the hotel, the GWR Tower.

The new rooms are decorated and furnished in a contemporary art-deco design. They are luxuriously appointed with a separate relaxation and work area. They are furnished with a 40-46 inch flat screen television, tea and coffee making facilities, a laptop safe and a separate walk-in shower in the bathroom.
