The Izaak Walton Hotel in Dovedale, near Ashbourne, Derbyshire which closed in May 2013 is set to reopen at the end of May 2014.

The hotel, now under new ownership, originates from the 17th century. It will be refreshed ahead of it reopening with further refurbishments planned during the course of the year. The Izaak Walton Hotel sits in three acres of grounds with 40 en-suite bedrooms, two bars, a restaurant and a meeting/events room. The Izaak Walton Hotel takes its name from the author of The Compleat Angler.

The Co-operative group has announced a joint venture with developers to bring its planned £800million transformation of Manchester city centre to fruition. The NOMA scheme will lead to a total revamping of around 20-acres of land near Victoria Station in central Manchester. The Co-op's new headquarters, One Angel Square, have already been built as part of NOMA. Another component of the plan includes a revamp of the former Hannover building to create Hotel Indigo Manchester with 178 contemporary bedrooms and a Marco Pierre White restaurant. Development work on the hotel is scheduled to start first quarter 2014.

ew Titanic-themed hotel in Liverpool has just opened marking completion of the first stage in the redevelopment of the former White Star Line headquarters in James Street. 30 James Street - Home of The Titanic is set within the Grade II-listed Albion House. So far just twenty of the hotel's 65 suites have been completed. The remaining rooms are scheduled to open this summer. 30 James Street - Home of The Titanic is being developed by Signature Living. The 11-storey hotel will eventually accommodate up to 310 guests. The hotel will feature the rooftop Carpathia Champagne Bar with a terrace and views over the Liverpool skyline. 30 James Street - Home of The Titanic is a two minute walk from the Albert Dock and the ACC Liverpool. It is a short walk from Liverpool Lime Street Station.

otel near Broadway in the Cotswolds reopened on the Farncombe Estate at the end of last year following a multi-million pound refurbishment.  Dormy House has now just opened its brand new House Spa, complete with a 16 metre infinity pool and a state of the art gym. Dormy House together with Farncombe Conference Centre share the 400-acre Farncombe Estate. A third venue on the Farncombe Estate opens at the beginning of May 2014 – Foxhill Manor. Now fully refurbished, Foxhill Manor is a Grade II-listed Cotswold manor house. It is designed for high-level executive meetings, team away days and strategy retreats. There are just eight en-suite bedrooms, a private dining room for up to 16 guests, a lounge and bar. There is a media room for presentations and a dedicated meeting room with plenty of natural daylight which will seat up to 28 delegates boardroom style.

Delegates also have access to the wide range of team building activities offered by the estate and full use of the spa facilities at Dormy House.

Accor is expanding its UK portfolio with the Mercure Sheffield Parkway hotel. The group has entered into a franchise agreement with Dominvs Hospitality to open the Mercure Sheffield Parkway hotel with 78 bedrooms.


Formerly the Aston Sheffield hotel, it is located in the heart of the Sheffield Business District. Mercure Sheffield Parkway will be equipped with a bar and restaurant, event and meeting facilities, secure parking and free wi-fi. Meeting facilities include two modular style meeting rooms each seating up to 100 delegates theatre style plus an adjacent boardroom.

The Mercure Sheffield Parkway hotel joins a network of 74 Mercure hotels in the UK. It will be the second Mercure hotel to open in Sheffield joining the Mercure St Paul’s Hotel and Spa in the city centre.

Mercure Sheffield Parkway hotel is located just off junction 33 of the M1, four miles from Sheffield city centre and close to the Meadowhall Shopping Centre.
