Venue Cymru in Llandudno has been given the go-ahead for a £2.8 million project designed to improve the conference and meetings facilities at the venue. 

The investment programme will concentrate on the reconfiguration of the building to allow for better use of the existing space enabling Venue Cymru to accommodate a more varied programme of shows and events.

Venue Cymru has a wide range of meeting and events spaces from The Arena which can accommodate up to 1,000 delegates for a cabaret style meeting through to smaller rooms accommodating from two to 40 delegates. 

Venue Cymru currently hosts in excess of 800 conference and events every year.  

Work on refreshing Venue Cymru is expected to begin in May 2018 and should be completed by the end of that year.

UK serviced apartment provider, Cotels, has just launched 7Zero1, a new apartment brand in Milton Keynes.  

7Zero1 apartments will focus on fitness.

7Zero1 is a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, including two penthouse suites.

All the apartments include a fully equipped kitchen, a Smart TV with Sky, complimentary wi-fi, Hypnos mattress and luxury bedding. They also feature fitness equipment such as a Ninja Blender, hand weights, yoga mats and a Swiss ball.  

7Zero1 has partnered with a nearby gym to offer guests special membership rates.

7Zero1 is located at 701 South Fifth Street in Milton Keynes.

During the opening ceremony of 7Zero1, Cotels Serviced Apartments also celebrated the 50thanniversary of the invention of Milton Keynes by burying a time capsule, filled with 2017 Milton Keynes memorabilia.

The Dorchester Collection is planning to launch a training academy in luxury services targeting the hospitality industry. 

Dorchester Collection Academy is scheduled to open in early 2018 and will be based in London’s Mayfair. At the Academy, the students will be provided with coaching and experiential training in luxury services.

Dorchester Collection was founded in 2006 to manage a portfolio of some of the world’s foremost luxury hotels in Europe and the USA. It is the owner and operator of the Dorchester and 45 Park Lane hotels both in central London plus Hotel Coworth Park in Ascot.

The group also operates two hotels in Paris with one in Milan and one in Rome. Its American portfolio includes a hotel in Los Angeles and one in Beverley Hills.

Hotel Indigo Cardiff has just opened with 122 bedrooms in the former Dominion House office block in the centre of Cardiff. 

The original Dominions Arcade beneath the hotel has been fully refurbished and now includes the hotel reception and lounge plus a dedicated entrance and lift to the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill on the top floor of Hotel Indigo Cardiff.

The bedrooms are stylishly decorated and furnished with the latest in-room technology.

The common feature found in all Hotel Indigo properties is a bedroom décor which reflects the local area and its heritage. In the case of Hotel Indigo Cardiff, the themes feature: ‘made in Wales, industry and music’. There is free wi-fi access throughout the hotel.

Hotel Indigo has small fitness centre for residents.

Newbury Racecourse has just opened its new conference and events venue - The Owners Club. 

The Owners Club is a purpose built facility overlooking the newly landscaped lawns and pre-parade ring at Newbury Racecourse. It will seat up to 240 delegates for a theatre style meeting or 120 delegates cabaret style.

The Owners Club has its own self-contained reception area for lunches, refreshments or for small exhibitions.  There are 42 syndicate rooms available in the main Berkshire Stand opposite.

In addition, Newbury Racecourse offers a large and flexible range of conference and events facilities including the Dubai Duty Free Grandstand which will accommodate up to 1,000 delegates for conferences and exhibitions.

The Lodge at Newbury Racecourse has 36 modern, well-equipped, en-suite bedrooms with a full breakfast service and a kitchen providing drinks, snacks and evening meals.

Newbury Racecourse is close to the M3 and M4 motorways. It has its own mainline station with direct trains into London Paddington. It is around an hour’s journey to London Heathrow Airport.
