The Ribble Valley is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty but is virtually unknown outside its Lancashire borders.

However, a local hospitality group, James' Places, aims to correct that. It has just opened the 1823 Spinning Block hotel at Holmes Mill in Clitheroe, in the heart of the Ribble Valley.

Holmes Mill is a former cotton mill which has been totally redeveloped.

1823 Spinning Block is a 38-bedroom hotel. The first 16 bedrooms are now available with the hotel aiming to be fully open by Easter 2018.

1823 Spinning Block shares space in the converted former textile mill with a bistro, bar and grill; a food hall; a brewery; a beer hall; a swimming pool, gym and spa as well as events and meeting space.

1823 Spinning Block Hotel is located in the centre of the market town of Clitheroe in Lancashire, close to Clitheroe station with a regular rail connection into Manchester.
