The Science Museum in London opened a new exhibition on 8th February tracing the 500-year history of robots.
The exhibition of over 100 robots will be the most significant collection of humanoid robots ever displayed. The exhibition runs through to 3rd September 2017.
The exhibition features a collection dating from a 16th-century mechanical monk to robots from science fiction and modern-day research labs.
Visitors will be able to interact with some of the 12 working robots on display. Among many other highlights will be an articulated iron manikin from the 1500s, Cygan, a 2.4m tall 1950s robot with a glamorous past and one of the first walking bipedal robots.
The Robot exhibition will be available for corporate hire as an add-on to one of the museum’s gallery spaces. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy out-of-hours access to the new exhibition as part of any event.
The Robot exhibition has capacity for 150 guests at any one time. For larger events the Science Museum will arrange staggered viewing slots.

A new Crowne Plaza hotel is set to feature in the £300million regeneration plan for Chester city centre. The existing hotel will be relocated with a new 167-bedroom, four-star hotel taking its place.
The Crowne Plaza Chester will form a key anchor in the proposed ‘Chester Northgate’ redevelopment of the city.
The new Crowne Plaza Chester will feature a rooftop restaurant with views over Chester’s racecourse and will include both a spa and a 600-capacity conference facility – which will be the biggest conference facility in the city.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2021.
The Chester Northgate development will also include a six-screen Picturehouse cinema, around 70 stores, cafés and restaurants, more than 70 homes and the city’s largest car park. They will join a soon-to-open cultural centre and a bus interchange development.

Alderley Park Conference Centre in Cheshire is planning a substantial investment to introduce more "digitally sophisticated" facilities.
A two-stage upgrade of the venue's technology and interior décor has already begun. The plan is to position Alderley Park in the top division of international conference venues.
Works include the installation of 4k digital projection in the main Nucleus Auditorium, as well as adding multi-screen projection units and upgrading the technology in the seminar suites.
A new bespoke video conferencing suite is also included in the plans.
Alderley Park Conference Centre was formerly an AstraZeneca pharmaceutical facility. New owners of the building launched the facilities in the commercial conference market in June 2016.
The Nucleus Auditorium is the centrepiece of the Alderley Park facilities. It features a 233-tiered seat auditorium, a stage, lectern and comprehensive AV facilities and support plus video conferencing and networking facilities.
Adjoining there is 2600 sq. ft. of exhibition and catering space with natural daylight.
A series of eight flexible meeting rooms located next to the Nucleus Auditorium will accommodate from ten to 150 delegates with projection, screen and PA equipment and acoustic walling for a variety of room lay outs. There is natural daylight throughout
Alderley Park Conference Centre is situated in 400 acres of Cheshire parkland, 12 miles south of Manchester City centre and five miles from Manchester Airport. The M6 motorway is a 20 minute drive away. There are trains every 20 minutes to London from nearby Wilmslow Station.
