Twickenham’s World Rugby Museum will close in March 2017 following conclusion of this year’s Six Nations Championship.

It will then be moved to Twickenham’s South Stand where it will undergo a complete revamp.

The new gallery will include purpose-built events, education and research facilities as well as housing the world’s most prestigious collection of rugby memorabilia.

The new look World Rugby Museum is expected to reopen winter of 2017/18.

New owners of the 59-bedroom Ye Olde Bell hotel in Barnby Moor, Nottinghamshire are opening a new two-storey, multi-million pound luxury spa in spring 2017.

The new spa will be located adjacent to the main 17th century hotel building. It will feature ten spa experiences including an indoor to outdoor vitality pool, six treatment rooms as well as a unique 'Snowstorm' experience.

The new spa will also include a new health and fitness studio.

Ye Olde Bell was formerly part of Swallow Hotels and Inns. Private owners took possession in 2006 and have since fully restored the property.

Ye Olde Bell features the AA rosette: Restaurant Bar 1650. There are six meeting rooms in total with the Bradgate Suite the largest seating up to 250 delegates. Hotel grounds are available for team building exercises. 

Ye Olde Bell is located in Barnby Moor just off the A1 between Retford and Doncaster, ten minutes from Retford station on the East Coast Main Line.

Work on a new development which will include a new hotel in Bath has reached a key milestone with a ceremony held to mark the topping-out of the project.

The £19million Saw Close redevelopment will include a 145-bedroom Z Hotel as well as a casino and restaurants.

The topping-out ceremony celebrates reaching the highest point in the construction of the building. Construction is expected to be complete later this summer.

DoubleTree by Hilton London Greenwich is a new 147 bedroom hotel which has recently opened in Greenwich.

The building, formerly the Royal Metropolitan Police Academy and dating from the 1940’s, has been totally restored.

Bedrooms at DoubleTree by Hilton London Greenwich feature a 37”HDTV, a coffee maker, a lap-top sized safe and free wi-fi. Hotel suites feature views of London and Greenwich Park and include a mini bar and seating areas.

Restaurant Oasis 01, the main hotel restaurant, is located in the building’s former firearms shooting gallery.

DoubleTree by Hilton London Greenwich includes 1269 sq-ft of events space comprising a main room to accommodate up to 70 delegates theatre style with pre-function space and a boardroom seating up to 12 delegates in support.

Leisure facilities include a fitness centre which opens in March.

DoubleTree by Hilton London Greenwich is located in Catherine Grove. It is a five minute walk from Deptford Station (DLR) and a 15 minute walk from the UNESCO World Heritage Site including The Cutty Sark, National Maritime Museum, Royal Observatory and Old Royal Naval College.

There is good access to both the O2 Arena and to the ExCeL Centre on the north bank of the Thames.

A new 54-bedroom lodge is set to open at the Solent Hotel and Spa in Fareham. It is scheduled to open in May 2017.

The Lodge will complement the existing 117 bedrooms at the Solent Hotel and Spa in Fareham. Both properties are part of Thwaites Hotels and Spas.

The Lodge bedrooms, which include seven rooms with a balcony, will feature the latest technology including a flat screen television, USB charging points as well as a walk -in shower, a good bed and plenty of desk space.

The Lodge at Solent Hotel and Spa will be the second lodge developed by Thwaites. It follows on from the success of the Lodge on the Park at Aztec Hotel and Spa in Bristol.

Thwaites have six hotel properties: Thorpe Park Hotel and Spa in Leeds; Cottons Hotel and Spa, Knutsford; North Lakes Hotel and Spa, Penrith; Solent Hotel and Spa, near Southampton; Aztec Hotel and Spa, Bristol and Kettering Park Hotel and Spa, Northamptonshire.

They were recently brought under the Thwaites brand together with the company’s Inns of Character, after previously being known as Shire Hotels.

Thwaites Hotels & Spas are celebrating after being named the top hotel group in the country. The chain of six hotels was presented with the AA Hotel Group of the Year 2016-17 Award at a ceremony in London. It is the second time the Thwaites-owned hotels have won the award.
