Quorn Country Hotel in Leicestershire has joined Best Western’ s Signature Collection.

 

The 4-star Quorn Country Hotel is situated on the banks of the River Soar in the village of Quorn.

 

Quorn Country Hotel has 36 bedrooms and features Shires Restaurant.

 

Quorn Country Hotel has meeting and conference capacity for up to 300 delegates with free wifi and car parking. It is close to the M1 motorway in Leicestershire.

Construction work has started on a new Staycity aparthotel in central Manchester.

The eight-storey aparthotel is  located on Mason Street, New Cross.

The aparthotel will contain 224 rooms comprising 48 one-bedroom and 176 studio apartments plus a reception, a cafe and a gym.

Completion is due in December 2019.

Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire has opened its new event space - Ochil House.

 

Ochil House includes six flexible rooms which can be booked either individually or as one exclusive space for a range of meetings, events or as private dining rooms.

 

The main feature room in Ochil House is the Drawing Room boasting loads of natural lights and some of the best views in the hotel - and with private access to the Garden Café Lawn.

 

The Drawing room will seat up to 70 guests for a private dinner.

 

The Assembly Room offers flexible meeting space comprising three separate rooms – The Reading Room, The Writing Room and The Card Room – for groups between ten and 16 delegates. Partition walls will allow the creation of one larger room accommodating groups of up to 60 people.

 

All groups will have access to a communal pantry and an informal kitchen breakout space.

 

Gleneagles Hotel retains its five-star status. It features three championship golf courses, an award-winning spa and the only restaurant in Scotland to hold two Michelin stars.

 

Gleneagles Hotel is located in Auchterarder in Perthshire.

Planning permission has been granted for a new  SACO Locke Aparthotel in London. 

The 121-room project, to be named 'Kingsland Locke', will be located in Kingsland Street, Dalston in London.

Kingsland Locke will comprise studio and one-bed units over five floors. The aparthotel will include a restaurant, a cocktail bar, a fully equipped gym  as well as co-working space for 152 people.

Completion of Kingsland Locke is expected in April 2020.

Plans have been approved for new hotels to be built in the cities of Lincoln, Wolverhampton and Plymouth. 

In Lincoln, a new 63-bedroom hotel is planned in the city centre.

The hotel will occupy a site on Clasketgate in a conservation area in the centre of Lincoln. The existing building on the site will be demolished and replaced with a new six-storey hotel.

The hotel will have a ground floor bar and restaurant.

Details of the hotel operator and the anticipated opening date await publication.


In Wolverhampton, plans to open a banqueting hall and hotel have been approved by the City of Wolverhampton Council.

A 600-capacity banqueting hall together with a 30-bedroom hotel will occupy land formerly known as the Volvo Bridge Cross Garage in Parkfield Road.

Details of the hotel operators and the anticipated opening dates await publication.


In Plymouth, a 21-storey student block and hotel scheme has been granted planning permission

The development will be on the site of the former Money Centre at Drake Circus. The new scheme will include a 105-bedroom hotel, 20,000 sq-ft of office space and 1,603 sq-ft of flexible retail space.

The construction period is expected to run over two-and-a-half years. Work is expected to start in 2019 or 2020.

The site forms part of Plymouth’s designated ‘tall building zone’ on the regeneration scheme adjacent to Plymouth Station.
