Refurbishment Round Up

The Bloomsbury Hotel in central London, part of the Doyle Collection, has just opened its Coral Room. This brings the three-year refurbishment programme at the hotel to an end.

The Bloomsbury Hotel’s Dalloway Terrace restaurant and The Bloomsbury Club Bar were both renovated last year.

The Bloomsbury Hotel is housed in a Grade II-listed building in Russell Street. It’s original entrance on the side of the property has now been restored and features a new glazed canopy, leading to the reception area.

The new Coral Room bar is located with a double height space at the front of the property. The room has retained the original panelled walls, as well as featuring five bespoke glass chandeliers and original British artworks.

Groups of up to ten guests can book the Coral Room Bar. Dalloway Terrace is available for private dinners and parties. The covered and heated space will seat up to 30 people or a standing reception for 45.

The Bloomsbury Hotel has a wide range of events spaces for meetings, conferences and parties. The imposing George V Hall, the hotel’s largest room, will seat up to 320 delegates theatre style whilst the Queen Mary Hall on the second floor will seat up to 250 delegates.

The Bloomsbury Hotel is a short walk from Tottenham Court Road tube station – plus the new Crossrail station which is scheduled to open in 2018.

Mercure Chester Abbots Well Hotel has just unveiled a larger and brighter Christleton Suite following a major refurbishment and rebuild. The Christleton Suite can now seat up to 300 delegates for a theatre style conference or 240 guests for a banquet.

The restyling saw the removal of walls to increase the capacity of the Christleton Suite. It has also improved the views across the hotel’s two-acre landscape garden and the Cheshire countryside beyond.

Other additions/changes include new lighting and a contemporary new décor with Chester-themed artworks.

Jurys Inn Belfast has just completed a £2 million refurbishment of its city centre hotel. All 190 bedrooms plus the lobby, bar and restaurant have been transformed.

The new look bedrooms now feature a DREAM bed by Jurys Inn as well as contemporary furnishings.

The restaurant at Jurys Inn Belfast - ‘The Kitchen’ – is open from breakfast through to dinner, now with an all-day Costa Coffee bar alongside.

Technology has also been addressed. Jurys Inn Belfast now includes a dedicated connectivity area in the lobby as well as upgraded wi-fi throughout the hotel. It has also introduced contactless door locks on all bedrooms.

Jurys Inn Belfast has five meeting rooms accommodating up to 30 delegates.

Apex City of London Hotel has just completed a £1.5 million refurbishment programme.

The nine-month project, carried out in phases to minimise disruption to guests, saw the hotel’s public areas and largest meeting room given a total makeover. The hotel also has a new restaurant and spa.

The new restaurant, The Lampery, provides an all-day dining destination and bar. It also features a terrace area with a suspended foliage canopy.

The new PURE Spa & Beauty features five treatment rooms, an infra-red sauna, manicure and pedicure bars, a spray tan booth and a relaxation area.

Apex City of London Hotel has 209 bedrooms and three meeting and events rooms. All meeting rooms feature free wi-fi, plenty of natural daylight, black-out options, AV equipment and air conditioning. The largest room will seat up to 80 delegates.
